Our Mission: From Single Use Plastics to Reusable Drinkware

Introduction

At Zero, we are committed to changing the way people drink by
advocating for the use of reusable drinkware instead of harmful
single-use plastic containers. We believe that by making this simple
switch, we can make a significant positive impact on the environment,
particularly on our oceans and marine life. In addition, we are proud to
mention that we donate a portion of every sale to the Ocean
Conservation Trust, supporting their incredible work in preserving our
marine ecosystems.

The Problem with Single Use Plastics

The United Kingdom is facing a pressing issue with the excessive use
of single-use plastics. These items are typically used once and then
discarded, ending up in landfills, incinerators, or finding their way
into our oceans. Consider these statistics that shed light on the
magnitude of the problem:

The average person in the UK uses approximately 150 single-use
plastic water bottles every year. This amounts to a staggering 7.7
billion bottles used annually across the country.

The Marine Conservation Society conducted a study that revealed the
UK’s beaches have over 150 plastic bottles per mile surveyed,
highlighting the scale of the issue.

Plastic straws, another commonly used single-use plastic item,
contribute significantly to the plastic pollution problem. It is
estimated that the UK uses around 8.5 billion plastic straws annually.

The Harmful Impact on the Ocean and Marine Life

The use of single-use plastics has severe consequences for our precious marine ecosystems. Consider the following points:

Plastic pollution poses a significant threat to marine life, with
devastating impacts on birds, turtles, seals, and other marine mammals.
These animals often mistake plastic debris for food or become entangled
in plastic waste, leading to injury and death.

More than 90% of seabirds in the UK have ingested plastic, and this
number is expected to increase unless we take meaningful action.

Plastic waste also affects the overall marine ecosystem. Over time,
plastic debris breaks down into smaller pieces known as microplastics,
which can enter the food chain, potentially harming not only marine
animals but also humans who consume seafood.

Our Solution: Reusable Drinkware and Philanthropy

At Zero, we are dedicated to providing a sustainable solution to
combat plastic pollution. Here’s how we are making a difference:

We promote and encourage the use of reusable drinkware such as
stainless steel water bottles, glass cups, and travel mugs. By choosing
reusable options, we significantly reduce our reliance on single-use
plastics.

As part of our commitment to preserving our oceans, we donate a
portion of every sale to the Ocean Conservation Trust. This organization
is doing incredible work in ocean conservation, preserving marine
ecosystems, and raising awareness about the importance of plastic-free
environments.

Join Us in Making a Difference

By embracing reusable drinkware and supporting organizations like the
Ocean Conservation Trust, we can create a positive impact on our
environment and protect our oceans for future generations. Join us on
this mission to change the way people drink, reduce plastic waste, and
support ocean conservation. Together, let’s create a cleaner, more
sustainable world!
